COVID-19 Guidelines

We’re working with our clients, your managers, to ensure your safety and the safety of others at this time. At a minimum, please adhere to the guidelines provided below. Any guidelines from your host employer (our client) should be followed in addition to the below.

We continue to monitor the latest developments around the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and recent Government Health and WHO reports. We will continue to provide updates as new developments occur and we would like to reiterate that it is our top priority to ensure our employees are safe and healthy. These guidelines include a number of proactive measures we’re taking to ensure that you can all manage your risk and that you can continue to work effectively.

Launch has 3 guiding principles as we continue to move forward:

  1. Keep our employees safe
  2. Continue to serve with the highest standards
  3. Do our part to slow community spread of the virus where there appear to be outbreaks, so that the most vulnerable people are able to get the care they need

 What we know

We’re continuing to monitor the situation closely and gather data from primary sources where possible (including the World Health Organization, Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, and Australian Government Departments).

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don’t feel unwell. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. About 2% of people with the disease have died. People with fever, cough and difficulty breathing should seek medical attention.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing.

 What we’re doing

  • Launch are working with each one of our clients to understand their COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan and COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Each client company has their own work from home (WFH) policy, please discuss with your approving manager should the need arise in the future. Please consider, the nature of some positions prohibits working from home. In addition, some client companies are unable to allow remote working due to data and security protocols.
  • Advice from Government Agencies regarding overseas travel are changing daily, therefore it is important you carefully consider any international travel and are aware of potential impacts before confirming or commencing your leave.
  • As per guidelines outlined by the Australian Government, Australians have been advised NOT to travel to China, Iran and the Republic of Korea. Australians have been advised to exercise a high degree of caution if travelling to Italy, Japan and Mongolia.
  • As per guidelines outlined by the Department of Health, any overseas travel to China, Iran and the Republic of Korea requires you to self-isolate for a period of 14 days from the time you left.
  • As per guidelines outlined by the Australian Government, if you have travelled to a higher-moderate risk country and there is no requirement to self-quarantine, your health should be monitored for 14 days after leaving that country. If you develop a fever or cough, seek medical advice urgently and isolate yourself.
  • Any confirmed case of COVID-19 will be excluded from work until medically cleared to return.
  • Anyone who has been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will also be required to self-quarantine. COVID-19 is a reportable disease, so all confirmed cases will be notified to the relevant Health Department and known contacts will be contacted and provided instruction by the Health Department. There is no need to self-quarantine unless the case is confirmed as positive COVID-19.
  • Maintaining good hygiene standards is an important way to reduce the risk of acquiring and spreading respiratory infections. We ask you to promote good hygiene, including handwashing with soap as handwashing is the single most effective way to reduce the spread of germs that cause respiratory disease.
